Default Aqua Painter

When I usually watercolour I use an Aquash pen.

What is the Aqua Painter like to watercolour? Is it only good for small areas?

When I need to cover a large area of cardstock this is what I use:

Reeves watercolor crayons - they're big and creamy. Then I blend the whole surface together with Gamsol. With the crayons I can lay down a soft or heavy layer of color. And even though they are watercolor, the Gamsol blends them beautifully. I actually arrived at this technique when I was trying to duplicate one of the Zindorf cards, and I didn't have a brayer. I have a brayer now, but I still reach for the crayons and gamsol for the large areas. I probably wouldn't even try to use my Dove blender pen - for me it seems to be better suited for small areas. Using my aquabrush for large areas gets my paper way to wet, and then it curls. The OMS drys very quickly and leaves a nice smooth finish on the color.
