Default anyone know anything about Tria or Triart markers?

They are similar to copics, but they have 3 tips...they've been on the market but are coming out with a new version and have a sale going on through carpe diem store on the web if you pre-order the new version. I was thinking about copic sketch markers, but now I'm thinking about taking advantage of this sale...I want to hear from anyone who has used these or knows someone who is happy with theirs... TIA for your help!!

Cheaper isn't necessarily better. I purchased a few of these (in grey and in skin tones) as well as some other ones by a Korea company (Shinart I think) and to be honest the Copics are much better that both brands.

I found both brands of the other markers bleed much more than the Copics and they don't go on as well (e.g. don't blend as evenly). I tend to use them only on images that I'm cutting out or have to be very careful to allow for more spread room.

However the advantage is that they do blend with the Copics o.k.

I only paid around $2 each for the "no name" markers so I do feel I go my money's worth but wouldn't buy these as my only set of markers.

Default Tria Markers

Tria's are excellent markers used by many professional Illustrators/Graphic Designers. They have three tips and are refillable. I have an airbrush attachment that I also use with my Tria's. I absolutely love these markers. If you can get them for $2 each, it's a steal!

I got some Trias and some Copics when I first ventured into the alcohol markers arena. The Trias dried up fast even though I made sure they were properly capped and a brush nib snapped when I was putting the cap back on one of them - yikes! The Tria brush nib is nowhere near as flexible as the Copic one and like Jen, I didn't find the ink flow nearly as even as the Copics.

I don't know what changes they've made for the newer version but I'd take quite a lot of persuading to swap out the Copics now (I have a mix of Ciao and Sketch).

I have prismacolor markers and Trias and I'm constantly dipping the tria tips in alcohol because they dry up. I've never had that problem with the prismacolors. I just bought two sets of copic ciao from carpediemstore and think I got a good deal. I won't by trias again. The ink flows just fine when it flows.
