Default Anyone ever have their SU scrup pad break by the hinge?

Hi-

Thought this was weird today. After washing out my SU scrub pad, I went to open it up and it fell apart. There was this cracking sound and I looked and where the hinges are located, one actually BROKE..it still holds together fine and I have had it close to a year, but I thought that was weird!

Mine broke on Thursday or Friday. I have to say I've had it for over a year and it gets lots of abuse being used in weekly classes and this is the one I use at home on a daily basis. The little piece of plastic that fits into the hinge cracked off. I'm trying to see if Gorilla Glue will hold it together, but I'm not hopeful as the piece that cracked off is very tiny.

Mine broke like that after I dropped it....oops:oops: I ended up ordering another one, it was driving me crazy every time I tried to use it. The thing that stinks is that I had only had the pad for about 2 months before I dropped it.

Just out of curiosity, are you one that washes yours in the dishwasher? I hear of people doing that, and I always wonder if the really hot water will cause the plastic to deteriorate...

I'm in Australia, and when mine broke, I rang Stampin Up directly and told them that my hinge snapped.... they sent me out a new one, complete with the cleaning pads at no charge.... They were very helpful.

Mine broke not long after having it! Like a month. I was very gentle with it, I rinsed it by hand, etc. Not a big deal, it would be nice if it closed, but oh well I guess. I have each piece labeled to read it easier. The nice thing about it is I can rearrange things if they get in my way, having pieces in different spots.

I wash mine in the dishwasher, but I take the pads out and just wash them. I have never put the whole thing in there.

I have had mine for over 3 years and it is doing just fine...sorry yours broke.

Yeah, I broke one of mine at the hinge when I dropped it off my desk. It's still very usable so I haven't worried about it.

Mine broke a few months ago - but I did drop it so I just gave it to my daughter to use for her stamping stuff (she's only 6). I haven't replaced it yet since I had one from Papertrey...though I like SU's better. I'm sure I'll get a new one, soon!

Mine is 6 years old and still just fine. (My spare is 3 years old and good, too) I have had them come apart at the hinges, but never break.
