It looks like Scrap-Mart had to pull the picture and their preorder info. Oh well, only 2 more days until we get lots of details.
I like the idea of design cards vs design cartridges, but I still hope I can live without an eClips! A lot will depend upon the types of images. If they're more like Slice cards, which have edgier, more contemporary images than most Cricut carts, then I'll be tempted.
If I can save my own designs & fonts to the design cards (I saw a comment on a blog that there's a USB port, so saving files is a possibility), I'll be sold.

No, it's not that bad when compared to a Cricut E + Gypsy combo. And the carts/design cards cost less than Cricut carts. If they go on sale as frequently and for the same discount (usually about 50% MSRP), they'll be competitive.
I found a pic and uploaded it to my own PB account.
This machine comes with the Intelligent Controller, Cradle, Starter Design/Font Cartridge, Cutting Mat and the Cutter. It uses cartridges that range in price from $29.99 to $49.99. List is $499 and Scrap-Mart had it on pre-order for $399 before they pulled it.

Oh so you get the cutter AND the handheld for that price? Wow! Yeah that's a much better price than a Cricut and a Gypsy. I'm wondering how the cartridges are going to be...I love a lot of different Sizzix Steel Rule and Sizzlits, if they offer those in like SD cards that I could then use with my Gazelle I'd be all over it.
Have to say though, I'm still happy I bought the Gazelle and didn't wait for this And my toy shipped today, so I'm thrilled!
The design of it is really nice, I like the aesthetics of it - it will be interesting to see all what it does. It'd be *really* nice if they offered software for it as well with print-and-cut. If they did that, then they'd push out a lot of competition.
Is that little pink and white thing the cart for it? That's small compared to Cricut carts. I always wondered why they made the Cricut carts so dang big.
The website listed took down their stuff about the eclips. I was hoping it would be back up becuase it is set to be released today but still blank. Bummer! and nothing on sizzix site either.
I called Sizzix. I know, I'm insane. What else is new?
I had a nice long chat with a great CS agent. She said I wasn't the only person calling for more info. Nice to know I'm not the only nutty papercrafter.
Anyway, the pic on the Sizzix reveal page may very well be it until CHA. However, we should still check it and see if anything is added/changed until then.
Sizzix will be posting videos during CHA both on the Sizzix site and their Facebook page. The FB page will be kept up-to-date with lots of activity during CHA.
(This may be the time for me to get a FB account. Keeping up with my friends and family wasn't enough incentive, but keeping up with Sizzix might do the trick! lol)
I also got some background on the pic in my post ^there, the pic with the yellow pointer near the cartridge/design card. Sizzix knows exactly how that pic got into circulation, because that yellow pointer was used during a corporate discussion of the machine and launch plans. Someone in the room apparently took a screenshot. naughty naughty

In their defense, this reveal would have been a bit more exciting if the full picture had not gotten out yesterday (or was it the day before?).
That said, I think some technical details would have been nice. Not all the secrets, because I'm sure they want CHA to be a big deal, but a simple bullet list would have been great.

Well marketing wise, releasing it with full deets at CHA is the best thing to do - create some hype and everything before then. I'm kinda surprised other websites released the pictures ahead of time.

Oh that IS naughty! And I'm sure kind of frustrating for them. I can't wait to really find out what it does. I'm just telling myself I do NOT need to buy this machine. LOL!
Hi. Sizzix unvieled it on their web page. They are saying it is a remote controlled shap cutter. I can not find additional info.on the product or a price.

You and me both!
There's talk on the Cricut message boards of a new machine. Someone even said it's wireless and has a touchscreen, but who knows? Provo Craft (makers of Cricut) has a teaser up, but I bet there's no real info till CHA.
The eCraft people have been a bit more forthcoming with their info, but they are also waiting until CHA to tell/show the whole story.
So, ladies, looks like we have about a week to win the lotto!

The thing is HUGE! I think it's bigger than the Cricut. I wonder what the size specs are? I am still not interested, lol. I am interested because I love geek tech things. I love my Gazelle, Gypsy and Cricut. I don't want another die cut machine. I bet the cuts will be beautiful. I love Sizzix steel rule dies.

The word Gazelle gets me all twitter-pated!
Mine did ship. It just feels like it's taking forever to get here (and in reality, it's only been 3 days.)
So I'll have my Gazelle, and my Big Kick, my Sizzix Press and my sidekick and yet...I really NEED that Big Shot Pro to round out my "Sizzix Collection". Oh, and, er, maybe when I'm rich a KNK?
Yeah, I'm addicted. I'm ok with it.
I do wish that now that Sizzix has a digital die cutter that they will make their steel rules available as a download purchase, like Bosskut did. I would SO love that!
Sometimes its easier to pull out a Sizzix die and run it than look through all the cartridges, especially as I have my dies organized. We're all addicts though.

Yeah, I have a feeling I will still end up pulling a lot of those steel rules and running them through, even with the Gazelle. Just like I still use my Sizzix Press even though I have the Big Kick....every machine has a purpose and I'll still use all of them (which is how I justify keeping all of them, LOL!)
Just like I'll still be using all those Nesties - after all, I can't get the embossed edge using the Gazelle, which means I do need to buy those new Labels once they are on sale for a good price
I store mine cd cases in a white storage box from STaples which was intended for the large index cards. I store Cuttlebug and clear stamps in those boxes too. Right now I have four of them and counting! Storage is a problem and I"m spread out between two rooms right now and need to consolodate.
Nikki, your going to be attached to your Gazelle. I just love mine and the freedom of designing my own work.
I was so excited to download Boss Kut's designs and get some of the steel rule dies. I squealed when I got the St. Bernard and Elephant peeker, lol. I had them on my steel die wish list for so long.
I have the original red sizzix. There is no way I am parting with it. I use it all the time. It's so much easier than using the Big Kick or Cuttlebug. I have a SideKick (TagALong). I got it cheaper than buying the long acrylic adapter pad that I need to use with my border dies. I have it in my Sizzix box where I store all my plates and accessories.
I could never part with my steel rule dies. I cut all sorts of materials out with them. It is easier than pulling out mats, etc... to cut out one simple item.
I still use my dies all the time. It's so much quicker to just pull one out and crank it through the machine. I'm with you guys -- I'll never part with my dies!

Nikki, my understanding is that the eClips will offer some (all? most?) of the Sizzix/Ellison die designs on design cards/cartridges. I don't know about downloads.
About the design card - cartridges situation, the CS agent I spoke to was very nice, but she could not (and I got the feeling it was could not, not would not) tell me which type system the eClips uses.
