Question Another Cuttlebug Question

I have the "Cuttle" and use it alot. My question is how do I prevent the small embossing folders from leaving a folder imprint? For example while using the small Happy Birthday on a card front I have a rectangle image on the card front. I am sure this is the place to find a solution. Thanks Phyllis and Happy New Year to All!!!

I know. I've seen some beautiful cards just today that embossed the image three times on the edge with what seemed like not unwanted "squarey" things on the card. Oh! maybe someone will give us the secret. We can only hope. Thanks Phyllis

I used them on my card here:

Forums at Splitcoaststampers

I used the Fancy Corners set and I ran the folder and card stock through the Cuttlebug using the A plate and 2 B plates instead of a B and a C. It felt really loose but embossed beautifully. Hope this helps.

Try this. Cut heavy chip board just slightly smaller then your embossing template. [I used 2 pieces of cardboard from the back of a tracing paper tablet] then cut cerial box cardboard the size of my B plate and ran it through. So the stacking order is; A plate, B plate, embossing folder and cardstock inside, 2 pieces of cardboard cut to embossing folder size, cerial box B plate size. and of course you may need to shim more or less. but shim on the lite side , just enough to get a nice emboss. It worked for me, and I would like to know if it works for you.
PS. I got the idea from doing the brass templates, like lasting empressions, and cutting the mouse pad slightly smaller then the edges so you don't get the edge imprint.

To 'shim' simply means to insert another piece of paper or cardstock, as needed, to make it work properly. When she says to 'shim on the lite side', I believe she means to keep adding THIN pieces as needed rather than going for something thick and perhaps breaking a "B" plate (which is easy to do).

Hope that helps!
