I adore this color because it's nice to stamp a sentiment in something other than black on a lighter colored card. However, it's staining some of my clear stamps so bad I can't see through them to line them up.
Does anyone know of a darker gray that gives great coverage on clear stamps?
I know Stampin' Up has a gray but that ink tends to bead up on me.
Memento Dew Drop London Fog is a great one, although I'm not sure it would be as dark as you would like.

I would recommend VersaFine Smokey Grey. VersaFine is my goto ink for sentiments on rubber or clear. Just be aware that it does not dry as fast as Momento because it is an oil based pigment ink. There may still be some staining but I don't think it would be as bad as chalk inks. I've always found chalk inks more difficult to clean.
The Nick Bantock inks have just been discontinued by Ranger but if you can find the Charcoal Grey one it's a lovely colour (it really does use the UK spelling "grey" rather than the US one "gray"). I've seen these listed at various online stores at a discount recently because they're doing clearance on them as a discontinued item. I usually use natural rubber but I just tested with a clear stamp and it stamps just fine.
Stampology ink by Autumn Leaves has a nice darkish grey. Its called Onyx. I usually think of onyx as being black but this one comes out grey. The ink is also specifically formulated for clear stamps and works well. I bought my ink pad at Walmart.
