I am really interested in hearing what all of you find to be the best adhesive for making cards...want something that sticks really well...travels through the mail and is not the most expensive one either! glue and or tapes....give me your thoughts please!!
ATG gun. It sticks really well, is much more affordable than constantly buying other adhesive refills, and since the gun is big, it doesn't get lost under piles of cardstock and trash on my table.

Yep! Best I've ever had. It is made by 3M and has several different tapes available. I use the gold tape that is archival quality. Very sticky and nice. I have not used the other tapes and am told they are even stickier. I have the 1/4 inch gun.

My favourite adhesives are Aileen's Tacky Glue and 3M mounting tape.

I love 3M's double-sided tape. It holds everything together (unlike glue) in the hot climate that I'm in. It is $3.88 for 1000 inches at Walmart. It is sold in a 2-pack (500 inches per pack), but comes without the tape holder.
ATG is the best for me but I also like scotch double sided tape but the ATG is so much easier to apply. Don't let the size of the gun be a factor as it is so easy to use!
where do you guys get your ATG...that is one I have been looking at
I bought the red ATG714 at www.framingsupplies.com. They are in NC. Quick shipping and lowest price I could find. Lots of people here on SCS got theirs from them.
Linda of A Muse introduced me to Kokuyo Dot n' Roller Adhesive a few months back, and the stuff ROCKS! I'm totally happy with it!
Dispenser NEVER gets buggered up, the tape never breaks, lays down wonderfully and smoothly, easily to pop in new cartridge, AND, the stuff BONDS fabulously! A dab in each corner and in the center of your panel, and you are good to go! Nothing has fallen off or shifted whatsoever with this stuff!
I it!

She nailed it. I've tried just about every type of double stick tape out there and many, many liquid glues. The ATG is the only double stick tape easily dispensed that sticks well consistently and over time (and with the Texas heat). Ditto on framingsupplies.com. They shipped my tape the same day I ordered it. I also like Dotto, but it's a pain to refill and pricey. Mine came in a big bubble wrap ball too. Cracked me up!
As for liquid glue, I prefer Crafter's Pick (find it at Hobby Lobby), as it sticks even better than mono multi (which can come unglued in the Texas heat) and is thicker so your paper moves less before it sets. The bottles are bigger with Crafter's Pick, so you have to work with it a bit to know how much pressure to put on the bottle to ensure you only use a small amount. I also use Scotch Quick Dry Tacky Adhesive for more detailed work, as the spout is much smaller.
Not sure what happened?? Any ways....thank you so much for all of these wonderful responses!! I have been leaning towards the ATG...I have a smaller scotch roller that I like but the tape isn't quiet tacky enough for this Texas heat and humidity!! Yep I too live in the lone star state. I am making a lot of wedding invites....did one and got commissioned to do at least two more!! WOO HOO my hobby is making a little money VBG So thanks to all who are responding....I will keep a list of the other suggestions so I can find what fits me best!!
Hands down, ATG is the best adhesive I have ever used, and the least expensive too!

Love love love my ATG...just ordered 24 more rolls of tape. I use a lot of it to do all the soldier cards....It is very inexpensive compared to many of the other options out there.
for the really strong hold, for straight line ribbon adhesive, for beading (pennywisearts, also has her brand and numerous bead combinations-the ultimate is this: the high tech red roll tape http://www.createforless.com/search/...FSgHIwodgld0Iw
nothing moves from this tape, and is available in any craft or scrapbook store.
I can't imagine that they haven't come up with a dispenser for this, but peels off the roll really nice, and is great for applying anything on a card in a straight line. My ultimate first choice for the strongest hold of
anything a stamper uses. Carolyn
well guess what! Yesterday was my birthday and I was telling DH on the phone last night (he works in DFW and we live 3 hours from there =( so stays there during the week) about starting this thread and how I need this ATG as I am doing so many wedding cards and such...and he is ordering it for me!!! WoooHooo!!
I agree with JulieHRR, The Tape n Roller Plus permanent adhesive is the best i have ever used. Your cards will NOT come apart using this. It is not that expensive either. If anyone is in the Longview, Texas area you can get it at B Stamps and Stuff on Gilmer Rd.

I agree with JulieHRR, the tape dispenser by Kokuyo is the BEST hold i have ever had. I use the permanent , and trust me your cards will not come apart. It is not that expensive.
If ADVOGIRL lives close to Longview, Texas you can get it at B Stamps n Stuff on Gilmer Rd.

After assembling 50 Christmas cards, I just realized that they are falling apart when opening them (they are matchbook style)! I had used Tombow Mono and wouldn't recommend that! I had to go back and reassemble all of them with Scotch Quick Dry, which I just learned about at a class at Archivers. Awesome stuff! I highly recommend it!!
Thanks smallcity! I do live reasonably close to Longview....about 40-45 minutes! And I will at least have to check out the store....even if DH comes through with the ATG for my BD.....he could also take me shopping there too!! (or I could sneak out for a quik shopping trip teeheehee) Where is this store at on Gilmer? I don't know Longview very well but do have a general knowledge... How much is this type gun??
