Adhesive used in Spellbinder packaging

Is is just me or is the adhesive that Spellbinders uses in their packaging so sticky it is a little 'overkill'? Some of the first Nestibilties I bought had the coppery finish pull off when I tried to get the shape off of the cardboard backing. When I remove the shape from the cardboard, I sometimes feel like I might bend the shape and then where would I be - the die came in the perfect shape but I bent it trying to get if off the cardboard packaging. Also, it takes 'elbow grease' to get the residue off with Goo Gone.

I love the Nesties and use them often. This is just an observation--

Yes, I have noticed the same thing. I just bought another few sets and had a hard time pulling them off the tape..

I agree. Maybe they should sell whatever brand of tape that is to us instead of using it as part of their packaging.

Yes, I had the same problem. I had to get my goo gone and take it off. Nice to know other people are having the same problem.

I really dislike the way Spellbinders packages their dies. The tape residue either sticks to the die so I have to use Goo Gone to get junk off, or the tape pulls the finish off the die.

I understand that they want their product to stay in place during shipment so it displays nicely, but there has to be some other (less annoying) way to accomplish that.

Ladies....I think the best way to get the dies off the cardboard packaging is to turn the cardboard over and gently pull the cardboard away from the dies in a kinda rolling motion. Keep the dies flat on the table so they are not stressed or getting bent. Bend the cardboard instead.

Using this method, I have no problem removing the dies and the tape stays on the cardboard. I did have a bit of the finish come off one of the dies one time, but that's no big deal. It does not effect the use of the die.
