My friend asked me a question about gellatos and I can't answer it LOL..so I came here.
She wants to know how to "set" them? She wants to be able to use them on backgrounds THEN be able to stamp etc over top of them w/o smearing or reactivating them.
Would she use a thinish spray of varnish ..OR are the set once dry? meaning they won't reactivate?
TIA!
I saw a video on utub with Donna Downey where she said to spray a workable finish or varnish to set the gelatos so they won't reactivate. I haven't tried this yet, but plan to as I just did a background in my art journal using gelatos and plan to layer on top.
If you let them dry you can stamp over them. You would only need to seal them if you were going to rewet the paper or canvas. I've never sealed anything I've done on paper. On and altered item or something that will be handled it would probably be better to seal.
