Default 7 Gypsies stamps. . . caveat emptor

I wanted to share this here because I have never seen a negative thing about 7 Gypsies so was a little surprised with my experience.

Let me clarify that I have purchased other 7 Gypsies products in the past with no problems - but I had never purchased their stamps before.

A couple of weeks ago, I picked up the 7 Gypsies Paddington stamp set in a Steampunk style. You can see the set HERE. I couldn't find it on their site but chose the Archiver's site as I bought it at an Archiver's store.

It says 23 stamps but I count 24. Today I decided to try them out.

First, they are VERY difficult to remove from their sheet. They are soft and stretch. You have to be EXTREMELY careful. Even after knowing this, one still tore as I tried to remove it.

I stamped 13 of the 24 stamps and TEN of these had defects. TEN! I stamped my favorites from the set - the ones for which I purchased it in the first place.

Seriously. Ten.

Let the buyer beware.

Have you contacted them? That doesn't sound like a common experience. Let them try to make it right. Good luck!

I had trouble with one of their clear stamp sets about a year ago; it took me the better part of an hour just to get them removed from the sheet!

I think you should contact them. I have that set, I've used them all without issue.

I bought the same set and had the same issues. I asked the company to rectify the problem so they sent me a replacement set. It was an improvement. In the set I bought, eleven stamps didn't stamp a complete image. In the replacement set only seven didn't stamp well. Unfortunately they were the ones I bought the set for. I hadn't heard of anyone having trouble with their stamps but I don't think they have been making them very long.

I recently purchased this particular set but only had time to check 1 stamp on the sheet...Sometime today I will try the rest to be sure mine are good. Thanks for the heads-up on the issue with this set.

I recently bought a 7g stamp set, but in a different style than the Steampunk. The ones I've tried won't stick back on the sheet. They were practically falling off the sheet when I opened the package.

I will definitely keep this in mind before I buy more in the future, which is too bad since they have some cute images.

I have three of their sets. Lovely stamps but they all are so hard to get off the acetate. I haven't torn any but am amazed I haven't. All three sets are like this. Just thought it was a7 Gypsies thing.

I have another one of their sets, and have also struggled to get it off of the sheet. I also had to trim the acrylic around the image to get a clear image. The few stamps I used worked fine, but I haven't checked the other ones. I have to say though that I was not impressed by the lack of quality of the product. The stamps are made of very cheap acrylic and are the kind that will tear easily.

Thanks for the heads-up on this! I had just purchased the same set and had not stamped with it until today. Same issues, very hard to remove and several stamps were defective.

Debating now if to exchange for the same set or get something else...
