Default 3 D embossing folder adapter plate

SU discontinued this and I need to find one as I am having trouble using my 3D embossing folders with my Big Shot to get a good impression. The one they sold was blue in color if any of you are wondering what I am talking about.

I add a chipboard shim or 2. I have the "sandwich" written down, if you'd like me to share it.

Please do. I have tried everything and I am trying to use the Dainty Diamonds 3D folder from SU.

Sure. For my Big Shot, this is the sandwich I use, from bottom to top:

Multi-Purpose Platform opened to Tab 1
1 cutting plate
Embossing folder
2 chipboard shims

I hope this helps. You might have to play around with the shims to see what works best for your machine. You might need only 1, or you might need 3. You might need to use different tabs, or no tabs at all, on your MPP. I had to test different combinations out until I found what worked best for my Big Shot.

While I used shims for quite a while, I am now using the Stampin' Up! Specialty Plate #154711 that's made to go with the Stamp Cut & Emboss machine. It makes my life easier when I'm doing classes.

The problem with 3D embossing folders is that they vary in thickness depending on the company. If you only use product from one company, a set sandwich and/or plate will work for you.

But if you're like me and have 3D embossing folders from more than one company, you will have to build sandwiches for different thicknesses. My 3D folders vary in thickness from 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch thick. That is one cutting plate difference in thickness!

So, make yourself some shims, try different tabs on the MPP, switch things around and figure out what you need for your different 3D folders. One rule...NEVER force a sandwich into the machine...but then you knew that already.

I have used this sandwich and it works well with all 3D folders:

Standard Base
Rubber embossing mat
3D folder
Standard plate

Works like a charm
