I didn't have any instructions...just kinda flew by the seat of my pants. There are pictures of one I made for my friend to practice for the swap I'm in, in my gallery. Feel free to take a look and ask questions if you have any.

lunch bag books
I never did find instructions on them, but there a quite a few to lookat in the gallery. I made my first one a couple of months ago now. They are very fun and addicting. I have made four now and joined a swap, so need to get busy on more. To start you just need to take two or three lunch bags and fold them togither. I like to put them opposite ends to each other, so your pockets aren't right together, but you can do it however you like. The pockets are fun for tags. I would suggest beginning with two bags. These are very time consuming. however I made a memory book for each of my boys and used topics that are important in each of their lives and then pictures of the events to go along with. With using the pictures, I like using three bags. I have secured my binding with brads and eyelets, but I have also seen staples and just punched holes tied with ribbon. These are really fun and the sky is the limit. look at the gallery and you will get ideas to start and it really flows quickly from there. Have fun!

I hope I pasted the instructions right - the link below. I went into the gallery and types in Lunch Bag Book in the search area and there was an instruction sheet in there. Maybe this will help us learn how to do this.
There are the instructions from a different site, these are the ones I used to make mine.

Hi - for the ones that have made this lunch sack book - How much do you think you have in it? (money wise)
I'm just now starting one and would like to teach a class on how to make these. I'm going to call it "Paper Sack Keepsake Album...what do you think? I am a SU demo, but might use other products for this..
I also can't seem to staple or punch holes in my sacks as they are too thick. Any help would be appreciated. thanks much.

LBB cost
I think the cost on these is kind of like making cards. It depends on all the imbellishments and what you add in your pockets! The memory books I made for my boys cost me very little. The bags are cheap! and I used buttons out of my jar and lots of hand spun fibers that didn't cost me anything but the time to do them, and some were a gift from a spinning friend. I bought a few things for scrapbooks like little stick-on footballs and a violin and some music notes, but I think the most they would have in them each is $7. If you didn't buy any special items it would be cheaper than that. THe friend books I made cost me more because I spent more on the embellishments and then a added little gifts in some of the pockets and that adds up.
For my holes I use a regular paper punch to go through the layers. My little stampin up one won't do bags. I have a smaller hole punch. I like using brads. If you use eyelets on three bags you need to do the first three pages together from the front and the last three together from the back. My experiecne is the eyelets pull out if you try and go through all six layers. Hope this helps some.
My question is...are these safe for pictures? I mean are they acid free? I'm thinking that they might not make such good picture albums if they are not acid free. Any feedback?
:oops: Sorry that this may sound dumb but....are you supposed to complete the album or is its recipient? Is it like doing page layouts for the receiver to put their photos in? What are some ideas of items to put in the pockets?Denise

As for the cost - it could be as little or as much as you want to invest into the project. For the Brownie one it's basically: 3 paperbags, 1 piece of confetti cardstock for the 3 tags, ribbon for the tags and tying the spine together and approx one sheet of designer paper. Pretty inexpensive. However, you really can go more elaborate too. Add lots more ribbon, buttons, brads, eyelets, more paper, etc and you bring up the costs.

What I will suggest to my customers and you is to make copies of their pictures first as this paper sack is not acid free.
I actually used photos that did not make it into my nice album and I didn't put a picture on every page. It's pretty cool - I'm still working on it and am making it for my dh's birthday.
I think they are not acid free. You should spray them with archival mist if you're worried about that. But I think they are meant to be short term, gift type things, not something you'd necessarily want to preserve your most cherished photos in. I always use copies in things like this.

As an aside:
You know, I did an EXTENSIVE search to find these directions. I was on another site doing my looking :shock: and came across their forum (won't mention names) and I was absolutely sickened at one of the "conversations." They were talking about these paperbag books, and how they're all the rage, and then talking about NOT giving out how they were done, making fun of people posting trying to find info on directions. Saying things like, "People are going nuts trying to find out how these are done...LOL" Apparently some are selling on ebay, so I guess this is about money for some. So many have shared wonderful ideas with me; I would never purposely hold back on information like this. How sick is that? We're all here to stamp and have fun, not be catty about a craft project, for Heaven's sake!

Thank you all that posted their cards and the many different sites posted with directions. I have the one posted here in a gallery but I guess I just didn't get it. These other instructions really helped.
