Since I only have PS on my laptop and work on the desktop most of the time - which doesn't have enough RAM to handle installing the Adobe Creative Suite (YET) so I rigged it like this:
If you have Microsoft Office you probably have MS Publisher and in Publisher you can overlay one picture with another or a text box and group them as one object and save as a picture. Here's how:
Open Publisher and Insert the picture you want to put a watermark on.
On the create a text box, put your text the way you want it to appear. Make sure you choose NO FILL and NO LINE on the Format Text Box dialog box. Then just drag the text box up over the picture. Now select both objects and group them together. Right click on the picture and choose "save as picture" from the shortcut menu.
If you move the text box over the picture, and it "disappears" it means it has been put "behind" the picture, so just "bring it to front" from the menu bar.
Hope this helps someone!!
Hi there... Photoshop can be pretty expensive. You may want to look into Paint Shop Pro. You can do many of the same things in PSP as you can in PS. You can also download a trial version to test. Hmm I think they may have changed name to Corel Paint Essentials. Anywho, if you go to Corel.com and click on FreeTrials on top you can browse what's available.
Hope this helps!
I was gonna suggest the same thing. I have been using PSP for YEAAAAAAAAARs and I love it and it is DEFINITELY a lot cheaper than photoshop.
There's a free program called GIMP, which I used for awhile, but it is slow and klunky. Then I heard about iWatermark, and I LOVE it! Both are available for both Mac (my platform) and PC. iWatermark has a free version, but I paid the small fee ($20?) for the full version--gotta support shareware, in my book!
someday i might invest in something like photoshop...but for now i use the paint program that came with windows on my computer...i do have paintshop photo album but haven't fooled with it...anyone use that?

Finally, someone came out and asked this question, and using this as kind of a springboard, does anyone change their watermarks based on what site they post them on? For example I have my own blog, would I use one watermark for that and something different posted on here or at PTI? Or do I continue using the same watermark for everything? Also what is the format/layout you ladies use for your watermarks?
