I saw a technique where you stamped an image with versamark and then scrapped pastel chalks over it and then wiped off the extra chalk with a swiffer or tissue. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I've recently tried the technique again, but it doesn't seem to working like I remembered it did. Any help would be very much appreciated...hugs....ps
Thank you 3Maries. Does the Versamark remain sticky after it's dry for the chalks to stick? I didn't remember that part. Maybe that's why mine didn't turn out well....ps
Hmmm....I haven't heard before that you need to have the versamark dry.
Usually I apply chalks with brush, and then brush it off, I let sit a bit, maybe the ink dries in meantime.

Thanks so much for the replies. I'll try letting the Versamark dry before scrapping the chalks and also try the daubers instead of scrapping the chalks.
ps
I use daubers with this technique, was playing with it last night actually. I don't wait for the versamark to dry, but I think a dauber works a bit better that taking the cake of chalk and pulling it across the versamark. Try dabbing it on and then very lightly brushing off the excess.
I usually use a cotton swab for this. I've heard of others who use eyeshadow applicators. The less chalk you get outside the image, the better your final result will be. You can also use a chalk eraser for cleaner edges.
I've just recently tried this technique with the Lovely As A Tree stamp set and it looks so soft and almost misty! I tried using a Q-tip at first and wasn't having much luck. Then I tried a cotton ball and very, very gently dabbed the chalk onto the versamark and it worked beautifully!
