Holy Moly! That looks very confusing. I love the card, but I am not sure I would have the patience to make one. If it is easier that it looks and the instructions read, let me know!

Yes, it really is quite easy... honest it is
Just do each step... one at a time. Once you do the first one, it becomes very easy and is quite fun to create. In a class just before Christmas, we used this technique to create a pop-up card. Talk about fun!

Those directions are not easy to follow.... I can almost always make something with really good instructions. I've been at for 30 minutes now and I'm giving up. I would like to make this card it looks awsome.
OK. I make a sample of old cheap paper to see if it worked, and I got it! I'm sure if I worked on it I could improve the look I got, but it's just a rough idea. I'll try to explain it.
1. fold the 6 x 6 corner to corner each way.
2. cut along one fold to the center.
3. if you hold that cut to the left, you need to cut a glue strip along the fold that's on the right side. To do this you need to cut to the left side of the fold. you will be cutting away most of the triangle in that section and leaving only a strip to fasten the piece together.
4. now is the time to make the mountain fold that was mentioned. If you hold the triangle together now you'll see a standing 1/4 of the piramid. The fold should be made so it won't end up on the bottom. I did that on one side and now it shows. I'm sure glad this is a test to get the shape right.
5. now make 3 more and glue them together.
If you dry fit everything, it makes more sense. Hope that helps anyone who wants to give it a try. PM me and let me know. If these instructions aren't clear to you, you can PM me and I'll try to help you get it. Good Luck
THE SAMPLE SHOWN HERE was created by stamping the "walls" (triangles #2 and #3) with snowflakes. The "bottom" (triangle #1) was *smooched* with silver pigment ink then embossed using clear Embossing powder mixed with glitter to resemble ice.
The star was embossed... and cut out.
The tree was stamped on patterned paper... embossed... and cut out.
Both were folded in half... glued... and pressed into the center fold between triangles #2 and #3.
The front edge of the bottom (triangle #1) is also patterned paper... one edge torn... and then cut to fit.
The penguins were stamped... cut out... and popped out using a strip of paper about 3/8" wide... folded into the shape of a 3-D Square.
Glue was placed on TWO connecting sides... one attached to the "wall" and the other attached to the "bottom" The penguins were attached to the front of these popped-out, 3-D squares.

Thanks Sharon for the extra instructions, love the pop outs...and the cute background...need to get busy and make this one..now that I have two sets of instructions, how can I go wrong..
I think what confuses most people with this card is the mountain fold part. I also think some may be folding corner to corner, and then folding again without opening it....so......
1) Create diagonal folds by folding bottom left corner to top right corner.
2) OPEN so you see a square again.
3) Now fold bottom right corner to top left corner.
4) OPEN.....your "valley folds are all set.
5) Don't cut away the WHOLE triangle....leave a little bit to create a tab.
6) Take the tab and the triangle across the open space and pull them together - glue the tab to the back of the triangle.
7) Now you have a 3-D Triangle......set it on the table so that one side is on the table - we'll call that the bottom. Slide a finger under the "bottom" and push up as you pinch the sides together.
9) Make 3 more of these the same way.
10) Stack and glue. Decorate as wanted.
11) When you make the card, attach some ribbon or cord so that you can tie it open.
I just made 2 of these for my girls for their valentines cards. I had to go REALLY slow to get the hang of taping/folding the flap part. By they time I was on my 8th piece of triangle, I had it down, finally. These are easy to do, though.

I made one of these and after I sat here and looked at the triangles for about 45 minutes and turned them around and about, the light bulb came on and I put it together with no trouble. I was on the way to an appointment and I took it to one of the gals there and asked her to critique it and let me know what she thought of it. I'll find out next week when I go back. I thought it looked pretty good for a first time, well second time try. I made a prototype out of white paper just to see if I could get it together. Then I made a real one with cardstock and embellishments. It doesn't look nearly as nice as DancingRain's but it was a start. Thanks for the instructions. I do have to say DancingRain's instructions are easier to understand than the ones in the link. At least for me they were.
