I have the pictures printed on transparency sheets and also photo paper. I want to layer them to give a different look but I am having a hard time figuring out how to adhere them together, if at all. I have never tried this technique.
I think you'll ave to use some kind of hardware, either brads or eyelets. You could adhere the edges and then hide the adhesive under a border or frame around the images.
How do I attach it to my layout?
My first suggestion makes some people uncomfortable: Don't attach it at all. Transparencies are highly static. They tend to cling well to whatever paper you lay them on. If you intend to place your layout in a page protector, you can rest assured that the page protector will hold your transparency neatly in place. No adhesive needed!
However, if this takes you too far from your comfort zone, there are some adhesive options for you. Remember that anything attached behind a transparency will be seen. Tape, liquid glue, and glue stick will be discernable. If you want invisible adhesion, here are a few options to consider:
Attach with brads, eyelets, or nailheads
Apply your favorite adhesive to a place that will be concealed a photo or embellishment
Sew it on
Staple it on
Attach with a ribbon or bow
Use photo corners on all four corners of the layout
Use paperclips
Use a clear, spray-on adhesive
Transparencies are fun! They can soften or brighten (when you layer the same image over the original, for example).
