Question Tiles

Haven't done tiles before - what product do you use to color the tile after stamping with staz on?

We just did these at stamp camp. Half of us used the petal point chalks and the other half used the craft pads. I used the chalks and we kind of "sponged" the background colors and then filled in our image using Q-tips (we used Balmy Breezes stamp set). The ones who used the craft pads actually just stamped their images with the craft pads and didn't have to color in (they used The Art of Life stamp set). Also, if you plan on stamping any "words" on your tiles use Staz-On for this. After we colored our tiles, we baked at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Hope this helps.

I use pastels and colored pencils to color mine. I then seal them with Patricia Nimock sealer. They are still semi absorbant but the colors don't fade. I don't bake mine because I don't like the look of what I've experienced which was fading and color changes. I like just coloring mine and sealing. It's all personal preference.

I have used a variety of things on tiles. Sharpies work well so do the staz on pads. I used the versa mark with pearl ex. I used a sealer with that. Be careful with the sealer. I used it once on the smooth tiles and it changed the colors. The rough tiles work better and they also come in a wider variety of colors.
