How do you keep the ink on your tiles. I stamped with Stazon, baked for 20 minutes @ 400 degrees. After cooling I attemped to color in my stamping with SU ink & Color Box ink and it earased my Stazon???? What am I doing wrong. You all have such cool tiles.

It sounds as though you baked the stazon off because you did 400 degrees. I only put in for about 20 mins at 250 and then let them cool. I've not had any problems.
If there is no stazon left on the tile, you might try restamping and heat again. Or maybe just use them to practice with.
Good Luck

I found that no matter how I baked the tiles, I could wipe off the stazon with just my blender pen until I changed tiles. The Rialto ones from Lowe's have just enough glaze on them that I couldn't do what I wanted. The really porous Bottocino ones from Home Depot did not give me the same problems.

Aw man, I just bought some of those....:( Well, back to Lowes I goes..;)
The Bottachino ones at my Home Depot were full of holes. You would not have been able to see the design very well. Is it just my Home Depot?

i stamp my image in craft ink and coat with glassy glaze. i then bake in a 300 degree oven until glaze has melted. let cool and you're done! super simple and it's been a hit at all my classes. i have a couple samples in my gallery. hth
Has anyone stamped on glazed tile? How is that done differently than on the tumbled tiles? We have a bunch of left over glazed bathroom tiles that could be put to good use this Christmas as gifts. If tiles are sealed then they will loose their absorbancy won't they?

I did this too, but I was using a fine line image and found that it could/would flake off. Well if I picked at it! lol - it looks great!

I had to pick through the pile and looked for ones that were smoother. I also bought some extra packages and returned the sets of them that were too pock marked
Went to Lowes today at lunch to buy some tiles, not knowing what kind to buy, anyway I found some Rialto terra cotta ones for $.44. so I bought 12. Tonight I used a word b/g and heart on top. turned out pretty good.. being my first time to try anything like this..after I got it colored in, I tried to get some of the purple off I had used on the heart.. much to my surprise nothing would come off... do I need to spray it now??
Should I use the light colored ones or are the terra cotta ok...and can you use other inks to color in with
Thanks for any info....
PS thanks Gina for the wonderful tutorial you presented, I decided after reading your instructions I could do it.....
