about.com has really simple step-by-step directions on folding the 5 point star. I could not make heads or tails of the highhopes link. Good look. (BTW,, this is my first post. Nice to meet y'all. I have gotten some great ideas from all you talented people.)

After you made the star, did you glue it down or glue it to something so you'd have a back to it? Or to another star? Any successful ideas of how it should be mounted to give it more stability? Just wondering how you put it to use?

My thought is: before cutting draw a little tab sticking out from the cut side, then you can fold that under to glue it in place. In theory it sounds good, I just haven't incorporated it into a card yet.

To be honest, I haven't done anything with the stars. Once I mastered the folding, I kind of lost interest. I'm sure that the night before Christmas I'll be interested in them again.

Does anyone have any great ideas on how to incorporate a little stamping into these stars? I want to do it for a class, but so far it is just origami. I plan to use our double sided paper, then maybe punch a hole at the top with an eyelet, add our new elastic cording to hang it. I was also thinking of adding a rhinestone brad in the center - that would look pretty! Any thoughts on adding something stamped?

I thought of using Versamark, and maybe embossing with some glitter?

You could use a wheel to stamp your own double sided paper. I tried that using just plain white computer paper (but of course that's not SU paper). It doesn't come out as bright and pretty as the SU paper so I ended up not using that idea. I just decided to use it as a project to sell the paper and not stamps. You can use SU buttons with glue dots for the centers too.

to put them to use I was thinking of a garland, on top of a package or tree ornaments....I haven't even made one yet but loved them in the catty.....I was thinking of the same idea of a tab and glueing 2 together.

I was just playing with these adorable stars. Since my craft room is "beachy", I stamped sky blue cs with stippled shells (SU) in g guava, artichoke, pixie pink, river rock. I'm not quite sure what I'm gonna do with them yet...perhaps a mobile with some real beach shells. Chose your favorite theme and give it a try. This is definately gonna be a club project...something other than a card! Have fun

Hello I have the actual template from SU if you'd like to receive it and I will send it via email as an attachment. ([email protected]) just place STAR Pattern in subject line.
Thanks
