Default stamping on walls

Has anyone ever stamped (with paint) on walls? I am 'attemping' to put a quote on my craft room wall, but haven't had much luck with using paint and foam stamps. Any suggestions?

What sort of problem are you having with it, stampingcarla? I have done a little painting with acrylics on wood and have had some success with it....beginners luck most likely but I will be happy to try to help you figure it out.

I tried acrylic craft paint on walls and had a terrible time removing it later. So I looked into it found that that Martha Stewart recommends using latex wall paint for stamping on walls. Latex paint is actually a type of acrylic paint, so I can see why that would be confusing. Here is the Martha link if anyone needs it:

Paint the paint onto the stamp - dipping it in the paint gives you too much paint. Maybe use a sponge brush and just paint it on the stamp. I've also heard a suggestion of taking a piece of felt and putting it on a styrofoam plate, then adding some paint to it - to make a paint pad basically.

Default Stamping on walls

I have stamped all over one of my bedroom walls making a free-flow vine with flowers and berries with several different stamps and colors. I simply used the basic water based ink pads from SU. My walls are a satin finish latex and it worked just fine. If I stamped something I didn't like, I just wiped it off with a wet towel. Red colors seem to stain a little more, but you could easliy paint over it. It's been up for over a year with no fading. This wouldn't work in a bath or kitchen with humidity and all, but the water based inks work fine over basic latex paint and you can always paint over your designs or wash it off if you want something new.
