Default Stamping on Ribbon

I have a customer who would like to purchase two personalized stamps for her daughter's wedding.

She would the couple's name on one and wedding date on the other. Then she would like to stamp these on ribbon for some sort of favor. I have never stamped on ribbon and I'm not sure if there is a technique that will work so that the ink will not bleed.

She has not decided on which type of ribbon, so at this point, the choices are not few.

Has anyone stamped on ribbon? And is stazon the best choice for ribbon? We will be testing some of this, but I thought I would see what SCS thought.

TIA,

I Have stamped on ribbon in the past and just used the SU! classic inks. I have also sponged the ink on the the ribbon in order to colour it. I have never had a problem with it bleeding(but I have not really tried to get it off) and It dries instantly!! Give it a try it may end up being the best and the cheapest

Thanks Shellie! I will try the basic stamp pads first. I was hoping someone has tried it and it works!

Looks like you are a late-nighter as well

Grosgrain & organdy both work well with stazon! And I've found that stazon worked best on the grosgrain. Or you can stamp off then stamp on the ribbon with the classic pads. Haven't experimented with others. For a wedding, I'd stick with something that was fast to do, and would not run if something was spilled on it. JMHO,

the ink depends on the ribbon choice.

you can use craft/ pigment ink or stazon.

if using satin-like ribbon, do not use classic ink (bleeds).

i would experiment with it a little,

I also agree- use something more permanent for wedding.

I have stamped on ribbon and found that the Classic ink bleeds on both the SU organdy and grosgrain ribbon. I stamped organdy ribbon with gold metallic pad and it worked wonderfully! I have not tried Staz-On. Just my two cents!

I never thought about using metallic colors.

I will be experimenting tonight!
