Noticed this with the Country Living promo...what ink is safe to stamp on a napkin that will get wet and not smear all over your face/hands???

heehee well not sure if it was "safe" since I was going for a "look" but back in May I stamped napkins for my nephew's First Communion. We wanted everything to match so I had Menus, placecards, candles, napkins and gift tags for favours all hand stamped with a Church window and praying hands theme.
Anyway I embossed the napkins with versamark and embossed them with gold embossing powder. They looked pretty good actually ( I impressed myself). They remind me of the embossed napkins I sold to brides in my wedding store
Anyway, the restaurant we ate at had linen napkins at each place setting so I knew that these stamped ones would basically be for looks but the gold didnt rub off (at least not off a dry napkin)

If you are talking cloth napkins---craft ink will work. I stamped the fabric for my son's curtains. I couldn't find what i wanted in the fabric stores---so i took solid colored fabric and stamped with circles in all the other colors i wanted. HTH

I recently stamped napkins for a baby shower that I gave. I just used the white craft ink and stamped the baby feet from the I'm Here set on a navy luncheon napkin. . .it was adorable and I got tons of compliments, and so easy to do!

I always emboss my napkins - then if they get wet the ink won't run and get all over the guests.

Just wondering, are you stamping on "regular" paper napkins that are available in grocery stores? Or, do you have to use stronger ones, or maybe cocktail napkins? This sounds great for apps around the holidays. Thanks.

I don't use the 'cheap' ones but I do get mine at the grocery store or IKEA. Cocktail napkins should work.
