Question Soot stamping..Help!!

I love doing the soot stamping..but i seem to have a prob. I notice in the tut. and the ones i seen in the gallery, that they all look spot free, except for the stamped images. I sprayed mine w/hair spray, it sealed it but there were pinpoint dots like from the spray stream. Sooo then i did another and sprayed w/verethane sealer..same thing. I don't have any acrylic sealer as i need to buy some. I just want to know if this is the prob. (sealer) or am i doing somthing else wrong? Am i supposed to wait awhile after stamping the images?
I am anxious to try an idea i have w/wolf eyes(stamp) and pine trees. I know it will look great but worried about the little spray spots.. i wud appreciate any help..please..thx ahead for any replies..loves ya Gail

I don't really know, but I can tell you that I used an acrylic sealer and didn't notice a problem with mine. I hope using acrylic sealer works for you. If not, you need to just consider that "distressing" and pretend you were going for a rustic or shabby chic look.

Chances are it is the sealer you're using. Try getting the acrylic sealer. When you spray, shoot some out first to clear the clog first thing. Then spray into the air and wave your card through the spray, don't spray directly at the card. That should eliminate the spatters you're seeing.

I used acrylic sealer and didn't have any problems, so I think it's the sealer your using. Also, be sure to hold the bottle at least 12 inches away.
