I purchased an empty single cell cartridge last year and filled it with the VersaMark reinker. It works great! I have found that it tends to dry up sooner than the regular dye ink, so it needs to be remoistened more often.
well now i have one that i got from SU and it says EMBOSSING INK, CLEAR on it, now wold that be refilled with the versamark? is it the same thing? why wouldnt you just buy one of THEM instead of an empty one ?? Do they not sell these anymore?? LOL
I ordered an embossing cartridge...and it was dry when I got it, so I reinked it with a VersaMark refill (yes, it's a dropper bottle) and it worked just fine.
I highly suggest that you store it in a zipper baggie when you're not using it so a) it stays wet longer and b) it doesn't leak VersaMark all over the place (how awful would that be!).
Christy, Versamark and Clear Embossing Ink are two different things. Versamark can be used to emboss, but it can also be used to achieve a 'watermark' look, whereas embossing ink doesn't have that cool feature. If you don't use it to emboss it will eventually dry up and go away. Let me know if that doesn't make sense to you and I'll try to explain better!

At the time I bought the empty single cell cartridge to fill with versamark refill, SU! did not offer the clear embossing cartridge & ink refill.
Since SU! nows sells both VersaMark pad and refill and the clear embossing cartridge and ink refill, I would think they are two separate formulas. I would buy one or the other, and not intermix them.
so then does SU sell the refil for the embossing cartridge if they sold me the cartridge?? lol i understand the watermark thing, cuz i do that with my pad all the time, (hmm makes sense now why my embossing pen dissapears..lol i thought it would do the same as the versamark...)
oh thanks i was lookin and lookin and gettin kinda flustered cuz i didnt see it! I even had to pull out my old catty to see where it was in there to make sure i wasnt going loony hehe! Hmm I think i too will have to buy an empty and a versamark too! Im sure my pad could use some juice!
