Question about Envelope Book...

:confused: I am doing a class on Thursday and am doing an envelope book. There is one in particular that I saw in the gallery that I think Paula Evans did (I can't read the name on the copy I printed on my printer a while back) and I am wondering how the envelopes were attached. I don't want the flaps to connect so that the envelopes come popping out like a jack in the box. LOL. I want the bottoms to be stuck together so that just the tops of the envelopes, the openings, come out. Does that make sense? So how do I acheive that look? Adhesive across the entire envelope or along the bottom only.......TIA!!!!

The only thing I can think of is instead of just attaching the envelopes at the "natural adhesive" point I would attach the "flap" to its own envelope (backwards of course) then attache at the "natural adhesive" point.

That probably sounds confusing to you but I hope that helps. I have made a ton of these.

this was just on diy this morning on the scrapbooking show. Maybe you can get the directions @ www.diynetwork.com search envelop scrapbooks.

I am gonna take a stab at this. I was at an SU Meeting and a demonstrator did just that with the envelopes. The only way I can explain it is this way. Hold your envelope up with the flap (adhesive part) facing you. Fold it back. Take another envelope holding it the same way. Moisten the envelope flap that you folded back and align the other envelope up to the first one. Continue this with however many numbers of envelopes. Does that make any sense? I haven't done this but I had two envelopes in front of me and it seemed to make sense to me. Maybe I should try it and get back to you. Try it with just a couple as I don't want you to use up your supply on what I am saying.

Thank you! I tried one and I licked and stuck together the envelopes and then I also put a line of adhesive along the bottom edges of each envelope so that they would stay put and just the tops would open. I think next time, Thank you for your help! ;)
