Default PearlEx Powders--How do they stick?

I have a customer that wanted more information about using pearl ex. She says when she'd brush them on they wouldn't stick and was a bit disappointed. Any tips or suggestions?

You have to either brush them on a pigment ink, or use a sealer on it after you brush it on. (hairspray works)

Default Pearl Ex Powders

You can use Versamark inkpad to make your powders stick. Yes, you'll need to spray a fixative so that the powdered colors do not rub off on your fingers when you touch it.

Mix them with reinkers and color images in.

Mix them with lumiere and paint with that.

Mix them with embossing powder.

Emboss image in clear, while embossing powder is still warm, brush PE over it. Heat again.

Use with Heat and Stick powder.

Default mix with glue or gum arabic

You can also mix with glue. One of my favorite tricks is to pick three or four colors. Mix with a little glue in separate wells of your plastic water color palatte. Then sponge separately onto glossy or matte black cardstock. The result is really cool and make a super background for leaves and such. This trick was shared in an edition of RubberStamper about two years ago.

Pearl Ex are pigment powders, you need to combine them with a agent to make them stick to the media of your choice. Crystal effects works well. If you use versamark to get the powders to stick, I suggest some sort of spray adhesive over your finished work to seal it (needs something from below and above if not mixed with something.) Lumiere is made for mixing with these pigments.

Here's more information:

PearlEx iis a brand name of a pigment manfactured by Jacquard (California Company) and a very similar brand is Perfect Pearls by the Ranger Company. Here is a link to website with all sorts of examples of what to do with those pigment powders.
