Well..I just got the new punch..I forgot why I wanted it so badly!!LOL Has anyone used it yet?..If so could you please send ideas and a picture if possible?!!
TIA Rhonda [email protected]
I have asked this question previously--Do any of you who have the pp punch have a problem with the edges looking "fuzzy" on you punches? I thought it was the paper but used several types and still was not crisp. Tried the foil and wax paper. My mom finally told me to try a very fine grit sandpaper and that seemed to help. I guess I was really just wondering if anyone else had this happen with their punch?
Thanks!!!

Jackie, I had that problem with my other punches. If you are not completely satisfied with it, call SU! They are awesome about returns! I had to send mine back twice and finally on the third try the set they sent was no longer "fuzzy"...it was annoying but they said they may have just gotten a bad Batch from the distributor...seems it did the trick to send it back and get what I expected!!! LOL They were wonderful!!!
I can't wait to get that Paper Piecing punch too! I'm going to punch different colors and then cut those pieces in half and create a mosiac frame around a stamped, layered image. It was done in last year's catty with Vivid Greetings example. The cover of the new catty has an example on there and I've seen some in Stamper Showcase. They would also make cool looking retro flower vases, Christmas presents, or funky flower petals. Ooohhh, I can't wait to get it...

I got mine yesterday. The paper piecing punch is leaving an oily residue on the paper. I'm not using it on anything nice until I get that cleaned up. Any ideas?
Sue, I would take a piece of junk CS and punch away until I didn't see any more oil residue....that is what I did when I noticed a little oil on my paper the first time I was using my punch...I would also keep a piece of junk cs handy and test it if it has sat for any length of time after this
with one of my punches (not SU) I punched on some aluminum foil a few times to like "sharpen" it a bit, and get that "fuzzy" look to go away. It seemed to work for that punch not sure if it would work for the SU ones though.
I received 2 replacement punches today.
The first two stuck, didn't cut right and one had a broken platic case. These two new ones punch much better. They were a little fuzzy. I used an emery board to smooth out the edges. They both are great now. Time to get to work.

Oh man, you gals are awesome!!
Keri, you are a font of great information!!! I really appreciate all that you do to help with the SCS site. With little ones all around I know life can be crazy!
To the others who gave ideas on the thread...YOU ROCK!! I luv The funky flower vase idea and all the other tips you gave--Never would I thought of that!!! Also, the emory board filing is a great tip. I punched a fine grit sandpaper but the emory board will be great for a quick "refreshing"(?) of the punch. Thanks again for the great brain work!

Sue - I rec'd mine Tues & it did the same thing! It looked (and smelled) like something similar to WD-40.
I guess either the mnfr. or SU are 'lubing them up' prior to shipment to make them compress easier.
I did what Sereikastamper said to do (cringing as I wasted cs). But guess what? The strip of pretty in pink that I used looks cool with the punch used in a line....I see ideas coming using the negative image!

Did you use an emery board directly to the punch edges? Or were you doing this to your punched out pieces?
After waiting so long to get this punch, I'm loathe to send it back for a replacement, if there's an easy solution . . .
