Thumbs up Open house technique

The Baby Wipe technique is quick and brings a WOW from everyone. Keep it to 3 colors that work well together. Have them use it as a stamp pad and then afterward, make a background using stripes or plaid.

Embossing may work. I think many people (inc. me) shy away from it but when they see how easy it is. Emboss resist is cool too!

I like the baby wipe idea. Also something easy with glossy white paper seems to wow people i sometimes thing embossing can be messy but a two tone embossing is pretty too

what about a quick note card using a masking technique??? I've done one with flowers that always turns out nicely Or one using a stamp-a m-jig Once people use that they wonder what they did before they had one

I just tried the shaving cream technique for the first time yesterday, as long as you have paper towels, it doesn't get too bad. I thought it was a little messy, but I think if you only use a little bit of shaving cream--I kinda got carried away, I believe. I used photo paper too, and it dried really fast. Just an idea, you may think it is too messy *shrug*

Default Open House Techniques

My favorites that wow are;

Scratch N Sniff
Emerging Color
swing flip flop

Any many more, but those are fairly easy....

Does anyone have a link for any of the above effects? I don't know what the baby wipe technique, the scratch and sniff, etc... are.

Most of those and many other great ones can be found by clicking resources at the top right of your page and techniques. There are great tutorials there. Good Luck.

The rsources are nice, but they don't have everything. I didn't see the scratch and sniff idea there. maybe it's called something else?

As for an open house idea, how about white Staz On stamped onto glass votives. I read on a forum here that someone used a new swirl/doodle stamp from SU on a votive with great luck.

Sorry about that...I know the baby wipe techinique is in there. I must have read the scratch n sniff in another post somewhere. It is really simple, you mix equal parts clear embossing powder with whatever sugar free scent you want (kool aid, cinnamon, chocolate creamer, coffee (instant -finely gorund) using versamark, emboss as usual. The card will smell faintly of the additive and more so when scratched. It is VERY important not to use any additive with sugar in it or it will carmelize and ruin the effect. Let me know if you need any more info.

Wow! You ladies are great!! I will defiantely have to do the scratch-n-sniff. I don't have any refills but will have to get some for the baby wipe and cream techs. Thanks so much! I hope I have a captive audience on Sat.
