I am trying to figure out the best way to get microbeads onto a 1 inch circle (inchie) that I am putting in a flattened bottlecap.
What I thought would work, won't! :( I tried putting a piece of sticky cut on a piece of paper and was going to cut out a 1 inch circle. The punch wouldn't go through the layers.
So now I'm thinking maybe laying the stamped, punched out circle in the bottle cap and then covering the inchie with tombow multi or crystal effects/glossy glaze and then dumping the microbeads on it. I think my concern with this method is the mess of getting beads where they shouldn't be...? Not to mention how long the crystal effects may take to dry. But that's more of a minor concern.
How about using the sticky strip and just laying the strips next to each other & trimming the edges with scissors? It may take a little longer, but you'll have the beads where you want them and it won't take long to dry.

I did this this weekend - with an inchie stamp. I used heat & stick, then poured the glass beads over the image, waited a minute then re-heated it a little and pressed the beads into the adhesive just to make sure they were stuck. Turned out great.
Here are some things I've tried before that might help:
You can use a xyron machine to get some adhesive on the inchies...what is nice about the xyron machine is that you can put more than one image so you don't waste the adhesive tape.
You can also put the microbeads in a tray or flat container (I just use a tupperware container), terrifically tacky tape (the wide kind 1 1/16" or sheets cut to size), use heat gun to make the tape stickier and then flip the image over on the microbeads and push down - this is the same that you would do if you were making a RSVP pen.
You can also try brushing the inchies with some clear glue (or using a glue pen with two ends). I just tried it with a card for the middle of a flower and just poured the microbeads over the glued part and pushed down a little to set. I would guess you would have to put enough for the microbeads to stick. If you were going with the glue method, you can put the inchies on a piece of wax paper so that it doesn't stick to anything. It doesn't take as long as CE to dry.
Thank you so much!!
I am happy to know that heat and stick works with the beads!
I think I am going to use the xyron create-a-sticker since the 1" circles will fit easily. The refill was on sale at Michaels! Yippee!
Thanks again for the reminder to heat up adhesive tape to make it a bit stickier! I somehow always forget that tip!
