Thank you so much for the very NIFTY card idea & the photos, Shelli! This is so much fun. It was fun to read how this thread evolved! You guys crack me up!
Elizabeth, you could secure the sections many ways depending on what look you want to get. Glue them, use eyelets, brads or snaps and maybe stitch it up on a sewing machine or by hand using embroidery floss, string, etc.
As far as what to put in it, I say anything that will fit! Maybe a gift card, lotto scratch off cards, handmade coupons (ie "good for... one night of babysitting, a free car wash, etc.), a drink packet (tea bag, hot chocolate, etc).
Hope this helps!

If I can't be a good example -- then I'll just have to be a horrible warning!
I made a list of a few card ideas of what could go in the 2-pocket card:
1. tea for 2 (2 packets of tea) - saw this in the gallery
2. bookplates like melmel did in the DD under the gift one & a bookmark
3. tag card to pull out & a gift card...to spend
3. 2 beauty packets from Wal-Mart: facial, footscrub, bathsoak etc. & maybe use w/ Too Much of a Good Thing stamp set
This was great! I got it with the original instructions and a pece of computer paper. I love all the ideas that followed. You could use it for snowman soup too! I love the gift card idea.
Thanks!
Well i FIANLLY got it after seeing the visual folding directions. I was folding it completely wrong! I know, how can you fold it wrong? Believe me... it happens! lol Now to find time to play with the real thing as I used scratch computer paper! lol (don't tell my son i used his truck coloring page!!)
I think I can... I think I can... I CAN! I CAN!! So now, are you doing the real thing with paper or with card stock? I'm afraid to even try with a precious piece of card stock!
My 17 yr old figured this out for me!!!! I have e-mail, struggled  and the problem is-you start with the TOP right corner instead of the bottom right after you unfold the landscape fold. You fold up the bottom left, then fold the paper OVER to the left and up! Yippeee
stampinbird....you helped me the most...I was not getting the final folds going the right way. Wow.....what an adventure this has been for so many of us.
C~
PM me if you have trouble doing the vertical one you guys. My 17 yr old helped me and I don't want you to still be struggling or give up. You CAN get it.
here are a couple more ideas for the 2 pockets : baby announcement in 1 pocket and a photo in the other or same idea for a graduation picture and announcement
From the directions I kept folding the corners the wrong way so the card would be for a left hander not the usual right hand opening - so I folded the corners in the other way and it works!!! Or you could just fold your paper into 4 (fold the in 1/2 thelong way then in 1/2 the short way) and fold the corners over which ever way you want them to be either 2 in the inside of the card or one inside and one outside (just remember the folded part of the card is on the bottom not on the top like we normally have it)
Great idea, now I either need some cool double sided paper or I have to think up my own.

Ok, I figured it out but here's my question... Do you use US white & then stamp on it or colored cardstock. It seems some examples have different colors CS for the folds. Bring on more samples for me to CASE!!!
I have a question. What is CASE? I found my double sided at Wal-Mart last year. Bought it becasue I thought it was neat. When I finally found a use for it, I was so mad that I did not buy more. I have found some double sided paper a local scrapbooking stores. Some of them have the 12x12 paper. Now if I could just find the right envelope...
Thanks for the great idea. Mine too was backwards. Took me awhile to get the pockets in the right place. Can't wait to try it with cardstock. Thanks again.

Wow this is really neat! I have an idea to make the effects even more dramatic...after you have folded the card, lay it down, face up and closed. Now fold down the upper right hand corner, (just a small fold) and glue on button or other favorite embellishment.
Thank you for sharing this great idea!

I love this idea. What I am working on right now is folding it so that both pockets are on the inside & then putting some mini thank you cards in the pockets. So it will be a card for someone & they can use it too.

I think I'll try this for Valentine's day. How about something like I think you're the best in the land! on the front of the card. Inside You're worth more than ... put a 100 Grand candy bar in the pocket. maybe you can use chocloate Kisses and Hugs with a cute rhyme. Let's get creative. Any other Ideas?
LOL - i am coming into this late. Great reading and I just wanted to say that I have a piece of computer paper folded in front of me with a pocket on the outside and one on the inside but am not sure if I could recreate it ROLF!!!
I combined two sets of directions and the pictures so I think I have created my own variation!

I have had a good laugh just reading about "folding" here. I think I will try to make this card, but I might get a good night's sleep first....this has been too funny reading all the posts.....fold left, fold right, hotdogs, hamburgers, inside out...LOL!!!
Jeanne
So is one pocket on the inside of the card and one pocket on the outside? I'm playing around with this but am very visual, too, so having trouble with it.

I was confused but played with it a bit and came up with this don't know if it is the same but here goes....
Fold your paper in half, along short edge so you have size of 41/4 by 11, open it back up and fold it the other way, open it again, holding it landscape , longer edge on topand fold lower right corner into the middle, then upper right corner into the middle. then fold itright to left or folded edges to the left, and then in half like a book
I just found this post, and have SO enjoyed it!! I got it pretty quick (all 3 ways...both pockets inside, one inside & one outside with it wider than tall, and one inside & one outside with it taller than wide). We'd made something similar at one of our stamping get-togethers, but they ended up a little bigger than business cards & had (are you ready for this?!) 6 pockets!
We stamped scripture cards (or just cards with "thinking of you" or some other sentiment) that they could use however (I have several store-bought types on all of the mirrors in my house). We also put tea bags, Ghiradelli chocolates (they're square & come individually wrapped), gift cards & one lady found little sewing kits.
We just got a digital camera. After I figure out how to use it, I may try to post the instructions on how to fold the card-holder. I used double-sided paper from the scrapbooking store (and found some really cool leather-looking paper for guys!), but you could use stamped papers, too. The double-sided definitely gives it a little oomph.

HOORAY!!! I finally got both pockets on the inside!!!
I played around with this for hours back in February and just wound up with very worn out paper. Thank you.

This thread was hysterical!!! I had to try it myself and boy! did I have trouble! Good thing I was using printer paper. All is good now and I may even try using card stock and making an actual card. Thanks for the laughs and the card!
Oh my goodness !!! I can't believe this post is still alive, isn't it the funniest read ever and all ove a piece of folded paper, thanks for a repeat laugh
Okay guys, I am a newbie and just found this post. I am left handed and had my paper going everywhere. Shelli's pictures helped alot. It just feels like I am doing it backwards(left side of brain syndrome). Is there any glue involved to put anywhere or do you just leave as is? Densie
