Default Milk paint?

How do you do this technique? I have seen the sweetened condensed milk technique but I think its a differant one? It looks kinda like white barn wood? Can anyone help me?

I used milk paints in one of my classes last year. They're a type of tempera paint and come in a powder that you mix with water. White isn't the only color -- there's an entire array to choose from! You can also mix them to get other colors, just like with other types of paint. Milk paints work best on unfinished wood.

You'll find lots of info if you just Google "milk paints":

The Old-Fashioned Milk Paint Company, Inc.
The Real Milk Paint Company

The first link is to the company where my professor ordered the paints we used in class.

I do milk paint by using Close to Cocoa and using direct to paper with craft white, sahara sand, creamy caramel, and going gray and drag them across the cs. Then I take going gray marker and a ruler and draw the lines for the wood seams. Joan Norman

Actually, milk paint is one of my "unventions". It appeared in a recent issue of Technique Junkies newsletter. If you're interested in subscribing to this wonderful publication, just go to http://www.patstamps.com.

To do the technique, you need cardstock, an ink pad and marker in the same color as the cardstock, and a white or vanilla craft pad. Swipe the craft pad across the cardstock in one direction and let it dry. Then swipe the pad of the same color as the cardstock in the same direction and let it dry. Then add your plank lines with the marker, if you wish.

Milk paint is a finish used on furniture in the past and present and actually comes in a number of different colors, so you needn't limit yourself to just brown shades!
