Default Metallic Pencils

Does anyone have any good uses for the SU! Metallic Pencils. I've had mine for about 3 years now and don't think they've ever been outta the case.
What exactly would they be good for? Any suggestions???

In Feb.'s Technique Junkies' Newsletter they use them with bleach to bleach the card stock, then the pencils to color the area in. I like the effect.

I use them with gamasol. It turns out awesome! It's really great on cars and trucks.

I learned from a Stampin Up demo to stamp image with stazon, then use pencils to color with, then brayer over top...then take cloth to wipe off over image and you have an awesome card.

Have fun

My favorite use for them is also very easy....stamp image on black cardstock with Versamark, emboss with black embossing powder and then color in with pencils...it is very pretty especially on flowers!

I stamp Versa Mark on glossy white, use white EP. I scribble the pencil on a piece of white scratch cardstock, then pick up the color with a dauber, (in case you're like me and the daubers don't fit on your finger..they fit on the end of the versa-mark pen) then apply color using a circular motion. You can rub with a paper towel to blend colors.

My good friend Sylvia showed me how to stamp on black cardstock, emboss with detail gold, and then color in the metallic pencil. Beautiful for flowers. In Full Bloom works great!

I just did a tutorial on my blog where you use the pencils to do a resist technique. The card turns out so pretty, not as good on camera, but you'll get the idea.

I just use them to add a little shimmer. I press very lightly and shade with the side instead of the tip. I love how it makes a colored stamped fish look (the real fish, not the cartoon ones).

Something we learned at the Tampa Regionals: Stamp with black staz on on shimmer white paper and color in. the shimmer paper makes the pencils glide easily and the double shimmer effect is impressive!

Gamsol is a particular brand of odorless mineral spirits. It is used to blend colored pencils.

Exactly. You can use any mineral spirits. But I would recommend odorless or low odor mineral spirits.

When I read this post I got my pencils out and tried this technique. I have been stumped as to how to use the pencils, too! Here is what I came up with:

Thanks for all the great ideas ladies. I have a few sets of metallic pencils and have never used them. Gamasol? Ive done it with regular pencils but never with the metallic - have to give it a try.
