Question Metal Sheets for Making Magnet Boards?

Does anyone know where online I can buy metal sheets to make magnet boards? I found the Step Flashing but I have to order that in packs of 100, and I definitely do not need that many ;) None of my local hardware stores carry the metal step flashing, only the aluminum.

Thanks!
Jill

Doesn't ring a bell with me. Someone mentioned buying sheets of magnetic board from Bed Bath & Beyond, to use for storing the metal dies. Don't know what BBB sells them for either. Sorry not much help but I hear your pain in trying to find something.

What about a Home Depot type store in your area? They should have something. You could also try a metal shop to see if they could cut some tin sheeting to the sizes you need.

I had the same problem, but did as cat_woman says. HD or Lowes has sheets of the metal stuff, don't know correct name, but I do know it comes in 12"x24" sheets, very inexpensive. Have them or someone @ home cut it in half and you have two sheets of 12"x12" for backing, which fit perfectly in those 12"x12" framts from Michaels that are plain wood with no back. Then all you do is stick metal sheet in back, add a sheet of 12"x12" scrap paper. I even made my own magnets, some for granddaughter and some for grandson. The paper can be changed as can the pics you display.
Hope this helps.

I bought the 12 X 24 sheet at Home Depot and applied the Decor Elements chalkboard Notes (from Sale-A-Bration) so I have a chalk/magnet board!

I heard that those metal sheets can be mounted on a closet door, for example, placing the metal spellbinder dies on them. Sounds like a great way to store them and see them all at once for quick usage. I am considering it but hate to make the change after buying all the CD cases for my dies.

Not sure if this will help or not. I went to a local HVAC shop and asked them if I could by small pieces of sheet metal; instead of them making $ off me, they sent to their scrap bin and let me have all the pieces I wanted. I took the smallest (not smaller that 5x7) and made hanging magnet boards which I sell in my booth.
