Hello everyone. I am looking for the instructions and template to make the pinwheels shown on page 67 of the SU spring and summer catalog. Anyone know how they made these? Help please.
These are not exactly like in the catty, but I thought they were pretty for a simple arrangement. I think the same instructions would apply just without the scallop edge scissors.
Thank you for your response. You are correct that these are not like the ones in the catty. I was looking for the more open style of the ones in the catalog. Thanks for looking this up for me. Anyone out there know about the ones in the catty?
OK everyone I have looked at all the templates for pinwheels that I can find on SCS. they are all very cute but not near as cute aas the ones on p67 of the new SU catty. Someone MUST know how this was done!!!! Please help. They are more open and the shape is different from the regular ole pinwheels. Thank for any help that you can give me.

Thanks for hunting down that pattern. Do you know what size is comes out to be approximately? Also, what did you use for a stick and what is the best way you found to put it all together? I was thinking this might be a super cute way to top off gifts.
When we made them as kids we used a straight pin to go threw the pinwheel center and stuck it threw the eraser on a pencil or a straw and bent it down for safety. The printed hole on the pinwheel pattern is much too big to use a pin to secure it so keep that in mind if punching a hole. We were given the pattern at stamp night and told to go for it(with no instructions) and bring it back next month when we meet and see what we turned up with.
Just made the pinwheel today. Here's what you need to realize. This most likely is just a decorative pinwheel unless you really want to mess with figuring out how to get it to spin.
I printed out the template onto the DP, cut them out, punched all the holes and then you alternate the papers. I threaded the individual petals onto a brad with the back pointing up through the paper (so, reverse the brad) Then I covered it up by attaching the scallop petal with some foam dimensionals. To attach it to the stick, a giant unicorn lollipop, I just used two more dimensionals and added some ribbon tied below. I love it. The most time consuming part was cutting out the petals!
I will try to get a picture of it in my gallery sometime soon and maybe add it here, too.

How many of the pattern is needed to make the pinwheel? It looks like at least 2.
Yes, you need 2 sets and then you have to fuss a little bit to get them spaced properly.

I suppose you could alter the size of the template, but it does make a nice sized one with the given template.
I'm looking for the instruction for the pinwheel kit...in the topper section..I understand it was posted by larkspur4000, but it isn't on her gallery...anyone have those instruction? Would love to have them...I think they would work well for a scouting project...thanks
