Default how to paint with ink from inkpad

What is the best way to get ink from my pad onto a paintbrush? That is to say how to paint with ink from inkpad? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Carol! there are 2 methods I've used. If the lid of the inkpad has a little give to it, you can squeeze the pad while closed to get some ink into the lid. Otherwise, I just tap the corner of the ink pad onto an acrylic block or craft sheet to get some ink down.

Similar to Dina, I'll swipe an ink pad onto a Ranger craft mat, block, or small piece of acetate. I often spritz with a little water from a mini mister bottle by Ranger. I bought mine locally but here they are on Amazon:

What I wrote in your gallery: Haha! I am in *love* with your birds and their wonky hats! And so glad you got comfortable painting with ink. You've inspired me.

Carol, do you ever get to the Queen's Ink in Savage?

The classes - Patti's or her guest instructors - are so unusual and worth it. I've been to several, including a framed mosaic class a few weeks ago, and a mini-book class. Dana Wakley is teaching again soon, though I'm not taking any of her workshops.

Sounds great. Do you live near? I am in Baltimore County.

I put a drop of reinker in the lid, if squeezing doesn't produce enough. In class I put reinker on acrylic blocks if I have a lot of ladies.

Thank you for great reminder -- I do have a few reinkers!
