Hi Robin,

I have been looking ALL over your blog, and cant find the tutorial you spoke of. Would love to see it - can you help me?

I'm not too far from you here in Newark. Glad to see a fellow Buckeye here.

I got a deal on a sheet of 2 inch tiles, glazed. And it drove me nuts, stamping, smudging, wiping, restamping, etc. But I did finally get some good ones, although I had to heat emboss them to set the ink. At least the glazed ones allow you to wipe 'em clean and try again! I made magnets out of these, so I'm thinking of trying the stamp on tissue and mod podge thing on the next batch. That's GOT to be easier than trying to get a perfect image onto a slick tile.

Tissue paper and modge podge....hum, that is a great idea! I just bought a bunch of the small ones for magnets and I can not get the stazon to stick, the craft ink looks great but requires heat setting and I fear my kitchen is now filled with unpleasant chemicals. Anybody know how to get these glue dots off the little ones you use for magnets (they come in a sheet glued together, very hard to get the glue off)
Thanks, Shirley

Default stamping on tiles

I use tumbled tiles that I buy at Home Depot or Lowes. I only use Stazon Inks. I do not heat set them. I let them dry and then I spray with with a clear Krylon spray. I back them with cork.

On the orange tile..I did some coloring with alcohol inks.

tumbled tiles are better than the glazed tiles to stamp on..they are more porous and accept the ink better.

When I have bought the glazed ones..I take a piece of coarse sandpaper to them FIRST. Cyndi

Using a sealing spray on the tiles negates the absorbancy of them. If you don't mind that the water will flow off them, I guess this is OK.
