Hodgepodge Hardware

Does anyone have hints for adhesive that won't show through the hodgepodge hardware wire shapes? I tried a mini glue dot - it showed and looked terrible. I love the look of a wire "swirl" on the edge of the paper but am not sure how to get it to stay in place.

I've used Crystal Effects, as it's an awesome adhesive, but you have to apply it sparingly, and directly to the wire piece. You don't want to use a lot, otherwise the cardstock will be shiny.
