Default Help with Embossing Small Snowflakes

I'm making recipe tags & I want to embellish with small, silver embossed snowflakes. I punched the snowflakes from WW, but now how's the best way to emboss them without burning my fingers or warping my paper? I tried embossing them on their own & sticking them on my recipe tag, but they keep flying away from me. Then I versamarked them, put the embossing powder on & glued them before heating, but it seems to make a small mess & warp my other paper. ADVICE, PLEASE!!!!!:???:

Could you emboss them before you punch them - like emboss a large area? Or, when I am embossing on something small, I use my paper piercer to hold it down, but tweezers would be probably even better. good luck!

I would do as MaryR said and emboss an area on a piece of cs, then ounch out the snowflakes. I have done this for other shapes and it has worked well!

I haven't tried this but I saw it on Carol Duvall...if you put your object on something non-stick (you'll have to hold it down with a needle tool, skewer, knitting needle or something) and put the non-stick something over heat...you can put the EP directly on the object. The person on the show was using a little electric skillet with a nonstick coating but I don't know why you couldn't use a little teflon sheet over a heat source like a VERY low temp iron. Anyway...the EP did spill off the sides but she wiggled her project a little and everything that was not on the paper stayed on the skillet. She had a few little "whispy" bits that she trimmed. I've been really wanting to try this. After everything cooled she could peel off the EP from the surface.

HTH
Good luck!

Thanks ladies. I had thought of the embossing before hand & punching out later but wasn't sure if it would "stick" - I'll give it a try. And I had forgotten about heating from underneath. The tweezers get really hot when I'm holding the snowflake and blowing the hot air gun on it. Thanks so much for your suggestions! I'll definately try them both to see what's easiest!!
