This is great for matching the dp to the button...I'm working on baby announcements and was looking for just the right buttons for the top of the wheels...I'll have to post when I'm done.

What is the glossy stuff you put on the buttons to make them shine. My buttons are too dull looking.

If you go to her blog you can see that she uses Crystal Effects, well, she actually uses the Ranger brand, but it is the same.

When you get the red X go on it and RIGHT click on your mouse. In the box that shows up click SHOW PICTURE that should do it.

Jenni, this is a marvelous idea...thanks for sharing!!!! I lived in Frankfurt (back in the 60's) for three years and about all the German I can remember is to count from 1 - 10, thank you and goodbye! I think your English is just fine. If anyone wants to read your blog, all they have to do is go to the "Google Translate" and have it translate from German to English!

The best glue for it is glue for bookbinding...do you know what I mean?
Our Tombow would do it as well, but it's too expensive!!

Thanks for sharing this great idea Jenni - here are two I've made to match my favourite paper at the moment - My Mind's Eye "Wild Asparagus". Now I just have to make something to put them on!

Hi Cassandra
Not sure exactly what craft foam is but I just followed the instructions from Jenni - punching out circles from card and topping with a circle of the dp and then coated the buttons with 3-D clear gloss finish (Anita's) available in UK which is a liquid embossing gloss. Hope this helps.

Hi Cassandra - yes just regular cardstock but 4-5 circles glued together. Jenni's instructions are here - just keep scrolling down to August 16 - she has kindly put some English translation alongside the German.

Yes - my Serge is a Cavalier King Charles - 8 months old and full of mischief, chews everything he can get hold of! And your avatar??

Yes, we have a cavalier too, his name is Luke and he's four. He's such a love bug and yes, he chewed everything for a while, then it seemed to dwindle on and off, not as bad now. If there's paper laying on the floor he will scoop it up or food, he thinks the food is going to run out, he is done with it by the time I can get the scoop back in the bucket. I must say I have learned so much from this great pup, he doesn't have a mean bone in his body, never gets mad, so loving. I could on forever talking about him. He's opposite of our Golden.

I've also done this with my cricut when I needed a certain size "D" for a project. Just cut out 4-5, glued them together and stampde in craft ink. Didn't think about buffing the edges or even CE for that matter!

I have just found this and wow, I love the fact that I can now make buttons to match my projects. I have just made 2 as test pieces and although the glossy accents is still wet I love them already and will be making loads more tomorrow I just need to buy different sized circle punches now (I only have the 1" punch).
Thanks to the OP for posting this

Your buttons are adorable! I see now the whole scissors thing. I just made a couple Halloween buttons (round) with Halloween DP and ran the scissors around and saw the difference! Great tutorial! I translated it from German to English! ;)
