Default gold leafing?

Has anyone here ever done a gold leafing technique using rubber stamps?

My friend saw it done at a show and we want to learn how to do it.

I pay in chocolate!

To use gold leafing with stamps, I stamp versamark on the paper,
then sprinkle Heat & Stick on the image. Heat just until it starts
looking glossy then put the gold leafing on, press very well until
the gold leafing is sticking good, then use a toothbrush to brush off
the excess. Just remember to not heat the heat & Stick to long
or it won't stick good.

Good Luck

I have used the heat & stick powder as well to adhere the gold leafing. Depending on the leafing material you use (can either be in sheet form - just remember "shine side up" or loose shred type) when using the shred type you will want to brush the loose into a holding container with a soft bristle brush (you can recycle the leftovers). I like to use a soft material like flannel or cotton type to then burnish or rub to a shine.

I have also used glues (water based) direct onto my rubber then stamped the image - however to require immediate cleaning - I use a toothbrush to clean, then follow the adhesive directions, which usually has you wait until a little tacky, then apply the gold leafing.

Thank you so much! Both of you!
I can't wait to try this.

PS: Where do I send the chocolate?

OH! One more question, please?

Do you seal this in any way when finished to keep the gold leaf from flaking off?

TIA,

I've never sealed mine. I haven't noticed any flakes coming off. I love using the verigated leafing colors from Biblical Impressions. They are fabulous!

I just bought some of the Biblical expressions gold leafing at a show.....SOOOOOOO MUCH FUN! I am usually not one fore very involved and interacate techniques...the quicker the better for me...but this is realtively quick and easy and it turns out GREAT! the multi colored look is gorgeous, especially on the leaves in fall type colors :o) have fun!

Ok, my fav thing to do with gold leafing is this:
Stamp image on transparency with stazon. (I used stipple butterfly)
Allow a few minutes for ink to dry.
Take one of those red double sided stick sheets and trim to size.
Peel off the white backing paper.
And stick on unstamped side of transparency.
Cut out image as closely as possible.
Remove red liner and apply gold leafing.
Use a stiff brush to remove excess leaf.
Beautiful results.
