Ok- where do you find this stuff? I assume SU! sells it but i would like to go buy like 2 sheets of it first to see if I like it and THEN put in an order Does Archivers or Micheals or somewhere like that sell it?
Oh- and those of you that have used it - do you like it? Is it fairly easy to work with??
I have it and love it.... You can use glossy photo paper as a sub to try it but is is just as expensive as the SU kind and I have never seen it one sheet at a time! If you want I can send you a card size sheet whatever can fit in an envie to try? I also attached a list I got off here with fun stuff to try with the glossy paper PM me if you want me to rak ya a piece!
Sorry for butting in, but I'd like to know also.
I've seen some glossy printer paper at the dollar store... can you use that too?
Can you use any stamp pad? Or just certain ones?
thanks!

You can use any ink BUT becareful it is hard to stamp a clean image it is easy to slide and smear! The glossy photo paper is the same as glossy cardstock...
Photo paper is not the same as the SU! glossy cardstock. Had a coworker learn the hard way when she tried to substitute some she already had for the glossy CS and her project came out a total mess.

I absolutely love glossy cardstock! You can do a lot with it. I like sponging on various colors to create a smudged multi-color background. You should definitely invest in some.
I love glossy c/s. You can sponge ink on it or use a brayer and roll color on it too. Sometimes I'll make an entire card with glossy. It gives it a professional look to it.
I don't know where you are from but in Minneapolis Mn we have as store, Anchor paper where you can buy glossy paper by the sheet or by the ream. I love glossy paper and is well worth purchasing any place you get it.
archivers sells glossy one sheet at a time. one problem i have had there though is that they put a item # sticker on the paper, ON THE GLOSSY SIDE, and so of course that ruined the bottom two inches of the paper, perhaps they have corrected this error. i also was using it to do a "ghosting" tecnique and have done this before with SU glossy paper, and it worked great, but then i did it with the archivers paper and it didnt work out, not sure why.
Glossy CS ROCKS!!! Faux Linen, Crayon Resist, Rainbow Strip Flip, Brayer with a Spectrum Pad, Stamp in black and color with markers, and on and on. One thing to be aware of...Craft ink or any pigment ink will not dry on it ever unless you use EP and heat emboss. Classic ink needs a little extra time to dry over regular CS.
Please use the SU glossy. I would be happy to send you a quarter sheet for free to fool around with and then you can order the pack from your demo! It is sooo much better than the stuff you find in stores. Just pm me if you are interested.

I too have had a difficult time finding glossy cardstock. I went to three scrapbook stores and Michaels and no one carries it. I decided to buy some posterboard and see if that works. I will let you know.
glossy card stock is excellent to use with alcohol inks. photo glossy paper works too, not QUITE as well, but it does work. I buy the Kodak Photo Paper INSTANT DRY- 100 sheets for about 21.00 plus tax. It is excellent to use with wet inks as it doesn't absorb the ink like other photo papers do. I spilt water on a sheet I had just printed out and I thought I had ruined the page. NOPE, I just blotted it with a paper towel and it was fine. This is not a guarantee, mind you, but I do find it works well- doesn't smear easily. Glossy cardstock is usually found at stamping, scrapbooking or any paper CRAFT stores not Michaels, though. It is thicker than some cardstock, and it's sold by the sheet. There may be stationery stores that carry it.
It always cracks me up when I get an e-mail notification to an old thread like this and I'm thinking "hmmm..I don't remember this..." and then I look at my post date and see it was almost 5 years ago. Wow! No wonder Daven always said we have to stand behind what we type. LOL!!!!
