I searched but apologies if this has been discussed already! I want to do a splatter effect with heat embossing...something along the lines of using watered-down glue and glitter for a splattered look. I have a VersaMark reinker and I'm thinking I could use that in some way...maybe water it down and put it in a spray bottle? Has anyone tried that?
I have not but, I am also thinking since you have the reinker it wouldn't be too hard to make up a little ( maybe not a spray bottle that could clog up) but a little bowl or dish of watered down reinker in it an using a brush to dip and splatter then sprinkle the powder glitter mix? the thing I think would be to not get it too wet or when you tilt the paper to shake the powder off you may get drips instead of splats?
Are you trying to achieve a look similar to this? This card was made by Cristina K of My Paper Secret, using a stamp, glue pad and microfine glitter.

I do it with water - dip your fingers in water, flick the water onto the cardstock and quickly add embossing powder - I like to do it on watercolor paper - add gold embossing powder and prepare to be amazed

That sounds a lot easier than using glue. Do you heat it from underneath so the embossing powder doesn't blow around when you start to heat it?
I suppose you would get different size spatters using water on a paint brush?
Another maybe more complicated way to do this would be using a splatter stencil. You could tap the Versamark through the stencil then add heat and stick embossing powder, and then the glitter. Or even smear Stickles through the stencil?
I took a bottle of embossing ink and put it in a spay bottle, sprayed it on the card stock and them used embossing powder. It is a very random pattern as some drop are bigger than others!

I use the splatter stamp from Stampin Up's Gorgeous Grunge set.
I use versa mark, and embossing powder. Very easy!

Maybe a little Versamark ink in a small dish, and then using an old paintbrush dipped into it. Then you gently drag your fingernail over the bristles, with the brush aimed at your card. This actually sounds like a really cool idea, may have to give it a try, lol.
> You can make a tool from elastic bands - the beige RUBBER bands work really well.
>
> Group 20 rubber bands around your fingers (forefinger and thumb). Using a separate rubber band, wind it tightly around one end, approx. 1/2" from the end. Wrap another rubber band approx. 1/2" down from the first (this adds strength and stability to this tool), and still another approx. 3/4" from the other end. Using scissors, cut the loops at the 3/4" end, then trim the end to form a flat end or surface.
