Faux Postage stupid question of the day...
How DO you get the 37 on the lower left
corner of the frame??? TIA

When you print out your template, they usually have the postage amount (or some greeting) already on the template.

She has a template that you can download and print out. At the end of the tutorial, she has links to other templates. I got the one that says 'happy birthday' and 'asian post' by following those links.

I use different size boxes in different configurations depending on the project.

I use WORD and make my own sized templates. For example, the flower in Art of Life needs a tall skinny box (maybe only 3 across) and the baby rattle in Sketch an Event needs a more squarie - ish one (maybe 2 rows of 2). In WORD I go to table, insert table, make it 3 x 1 for tall boxes and 2 x 2 for more squarish boxes. Then I play with the font until the boxes are a good size.

I use the enter key to force the cursor down each box so that I can type 37 in each corner.

If you download the faux postage template in Word from Beate's page, you can change the 37 to whatever you want, as well as change the layout. If you open the file, then get your cursor into one of the boxes, right click and go to Text direction, then click on the left box with the word "Text" reading upwards, then click ok, it will change the way the number is in the "stamp" so you have postage that is more wide than tall...

I just did a card for my dad's 70th: changed the 37 to 70, and stamped each postage stamp with birthday candles. I did a block of 6 wide postage stamps on the front, then on the inside, I wrote "Oops! Extra postage required!" and put 2 more postage stamps mounted on colored cs below it. (I would scan it if I hadn't already mailed it!)He got a kick out of it!
