Default embossing on metal

Has anyone done this. I've seen a tutorial on it somewhere, but I can't remember where. I tried it, but the metal has so much static the embossing powder sticks everywhere. Would the embossing buddy help?

thanks

I've never seen the technique you are refering to, however, if you emboss several layers of metallic EP on paper or chipboard it looks just like metal. Could this be what you saw?

Do you mean dry embossing (using a stylus) or with embossing powder and heat?

I know they did that in one of the (million) magazines I have copies of -- but I know I couldn't find it -- but they did it on a metal tin and it worked somehow so I know it's possible. Sorry not to be of more help.

Hi, I have embossed a CD tin lid and it turned out beautifully. Yes I did wipe the tin with my anti static pad first then stamped image with Versamark. Take care to stamp and lift straight up as it can slide and blur image. I then sprinkled with embossing powder. I let my heat gun heat up for a while and kept checking until the powder started to melt straight away and also so the tin wouldn't get too hot. I used silver embossing powder so it gave an dry embossed look. It looks very elegant, sorry I don't have a photo. Hope you have a go great look for little effort.

I've embossed on copper foil with turquoise powder. I did use my embossing buddy on the copper first. Then if there was any stray powder, I just brushed it off with a small paint brush.
