Emboss card with A2 plate but leaving center blank?
::sigh:: Hunted for this and cannot find it. A friend has an A2 card that was embossed with a flowers/flourishes folder on a Sizzix but the center of the card has a smooth oval where a flower image was stamped and inked.. How would you do this? Cut a piece of cardstock or cardboard and put it in the center of the "sandwich"??? Card was given to her by someone... so the chain of "how'd they do that" is broken!! thanks..
Do you have the sandwich that you use for the Big Shot?
To do this technique on a Big Shot:
Multi-purpose platform (all layers)
Embossing folder with your paper inside
The cardboard pieces glued together with the center shape cut out
Clear cutting mat

Thank you for the sandwich for the Big Shot. I just received my Big Shot and I love using this technique on my cards, but I did not know how to do it with the Big Shot. Off to have some fun.
Be sure and let me know if it works for you. Remember that all machines are calibrated a bit differently.
I used the scalloped oval nestabilities and the Sizzix Damask embossing folder and Stampin up cardstock and it turned out GREAT! Thanks again for the directions.
Thank you! I need to go buy the Nestabilities for this; I only have one and that's not 'it'!!!
You don't need the nestabilities for this technique unless you were planning to purchase them anyway. Just trace an oval or whatever shape you want and cut it out with scissors. If it's not precise it isn't that noticeable
You can also do the opposite and cut a shape like in the card below.
