I've done a lot of paper tearing and other distressing, but how do you get this sort of distressing on the edge of the paper? Is there a particular technique to achieve it? I've seen it on a lot of cards on here, but never seen it in person.
I use an old pair of scissors. Hold them open and rub the edge of the paper in the "V" of the open blades. Don't know if I explained it well enough. Let me know if you need more info.
A seam ripper (used for sewing) will do the same thing. Plus you probably already have one! Give it a try. Just "drag" it over the edges of the paper as much as you need to for the desired effect.
another vote for the scissors, i've got about 10 pairs lying around, so they're always the first distressing tool i reach for. just run it in the "v" of the open blades until you've acheived the effect you wanted.
I like my Heidi Swapp Edge Distresser. Its a small pink disk thats quite handy. I believe its fairly inexpensive. I received mine from a Secret Sister so I dont know for sure.
