Question Dyeing Grosgrain Ribbon

I recently read somewhere on Splitcoast (or its Weekly Inkling) about dying the grosgrain ribbon with reinkers and water.

I've been soaking some white ribbon in brocade blue (diluted) for two days with little change.

Can someone give me a tip to make this work better?
Thanks!

i usually just rub the grosgrain ribbon with the marker ..turns out wonderfully. i would think that if you put a few drops of reinker in a plastic baggy and mushed it around with the ribbon it should cha nge. i dont know why you would add water to the ink???

I always take a sponge dauber, ink it with the classic ink pad, then put the grosgrain between the dauber & the pad and pull it through. Your best bet is to dry it with the heat gun, as it picks up LOTS of color and will get your hands dirty!! :-) It comes out great though!

I rub it on the ink pad... I've also used a little reinker in a plastic baggie if I needed a ton of it. The dilution may be the problem. Good luck!
