This was posted in Everyday Chit Chat and I thought of this thread. You can use your skills to knit or crochet a hat for orphans in Africa. Check it out if you like....
Still working on my flowers, had to put them aside because I had to get ready for a garage sale and tomorrow I'm re-arranging my craft room (cleaning it for a change). Trying to make my demo some of the "in" colors for a RAK for her!
I have temporarly put mine aside because I am working furiously on Christmas gifts. My son will go into the hospital on Nov. 2 and won't come out until the week before Christmas. I will sit nearly every day with him for a few hours (in the beginning more) everyday. So, I have to be ready.
I will work on my crocheting while I am at the hospital. I want to work on edgings some more and try to get back into a #30 thread for some hanky edgings.
A few years back I crocheted scarfs for all our nieces and nephews.....9 of them. One of the nieces hinted at one of those tiny scarfs that are more for decoration than warmth, I might try one of those.
I have been crocheting scarves for a local charity, Scarf It Up for Those in Need. They donate all crochet and knit scarves to local needy people. They also take store bought or hand made gloves, hats, and mitens and make sets for the people. i am using up a lot of yarn that was given to me by my grandma. That old olive, combined with a brown is very popular with the boys!
I'm gonna beg for help, here...lol! I'm a "new" crochet-er, and I'm looking for a very simple, tried-and-true one-skein scarf pattern (I have a single skein of Red Heart yarn). Does anyone have anything like that? I begged around a bit here at work for "play" yarn when I was learning to crochet and a friend gave me a single skein of a pretty cream-color Red Heart yarn. I hadn't used it yet and she just had surgery last week, so I was hoping to make her up a little care basket and include a cute little scarf crocheted from the yarn she gave me (cause I only wanted the practice, not necessarily the yarn, kwim?)... I've tried a couple of different websites, but just can't seem to find a cute, simple one-skein pattern....

My craftroom is in dire need of cleaning. I don't have a single clear surface to work on. sigh...

Sorry to hear about your sons hospital stay.I hope all goes well. I'm sure you'll get lots of crocheting done.
I did afghans for all the nieces & nephews for christmas one year. That was a lot of work. I've made a bunch of the skinny scarfs. Very fun.

Good for you. I'm using up some old stash on an afghan for a charity auction.

Whew...got my craft room all cleaned and can FINALLY walk in it without tripping on something laying on the floor! I have some projects all lined up (on my nice cleared off tables) to start working on!! I think I will still be able to find things too!

Go to google and type in "scarf made with one skein of yarn" and you will have plenty to choose from (I just did and a whole bunch of sites came up). ;)
I have been so busy with life right now...especially taking care of the needs of my son and then trying to get back into studying for the class that I am taking....that I have not picked up a hook in a while now. I had hoped to make a few snowflakes and get an edging or two finished for hankies for my Mom. But, life is just going pretty fast and furious. Maybe I will be able to when Clark goes into the hospital in a few weeks.
I am glad to see that some of you are still working on your pretties!! Hugs to you all!!
try this with cotton thread and a 9 hook. Color them any color
with copic markers. If I can remember how to make them, I did
tiny pansy and they are adorable.

I love love love Lucy's blog. She's just amazingly talented.
Long time no chatter girls. I've got tons of new posts on my blog about all the fun stuff I've been crocheting, but no flowers. Maybe we need a general crochet thread where we can chatter about crochet anything. lol
