Are these pads sold at craft stores or must they be bought over the internet? The pads were selling for $7.00 each and the ink gave off a sort of transparent look. My next question is; couldn't we achieve the same look by stamping with our VersaMark pad and then stamping into our Classic Ink Pad? Another product that I am not familiar with is embossing paste for rubber stamping. It came in a shiny or matte finish. They used the paste with metal stencils. They used dark cardstock and after the stamp was raised, they sprinkled on glitter. The card came out really pretty. It was a raised pattern of glittered snowmen. Simple but elegant. |
I believe what you are referring to is VERSACOLOR ink pads - you can buy them at your LSS, Hobby Lobby and a lot of online stores. Such as
www.innovativestampcreations.com and
www.franticstamper.com just to name a few. I've stamped in versamark, then a classic pad, onto SU cardstock and clear embossed - that way I can have unlimited colors of embossing powders.
As for embossing paste - if you're a subscriber to The Technique Junkies Newsletter (
www.patstamps.com) there's been some technques covered that use embossing paste. Try doing a google search for embossing paste techniques - here's one that came up on my search
