I've seen some where they have added ribbon and layers on the clipboard & I'm assuming modgepodge over it. How do you prevent it from being bumpy when they use it. Can you guess i"ve never made one yet! But I'm ready to jump on the bandwagon!
I think that the bumpier ones are mainly meant as a showpieces, and not really meant for general use.
The one that EllenH gave me is *perfection* - it's mostly flat, and pefect for a mini-legal pad. I used it a little bit, then decided to use it as a frame in my stamp room. I think that's more what they are meant for. Just to look at. . .especially if you add more stuff to them!
I don't think they are actually meant to be used. I recently made two and added photos to them if you buy the clipboard that has the wire holder (not the orginal clip style) it has a hanger that you can hang them up with.

I just bought some to embellish....I'm going to try to make them functional though. Just keep everything flat (paint, paper, stamping). I'm thinking of teacher gifts and I think they would want to "use" them, don't you?? I think I would so that's what I'm going to start with.....
